Initially, Fydji Portal has been started as an enterprise intranet project. It quickly became a generic portal solution due to its flexible architecture and provided APIs. Fydji Portal has been retained as one of projects to participate in portal solutions experimentation in several "Ile de France" region (Paris, France) high schools. For this experimentation, Fylab has produced a specially adapted Fydji Portal distribution, called ELIOT. Eliot is composed from the basic portal modules, but it is also includes some additional modules and third party applications covering specific "school live" needs.

This is the first public release of Fydji Portal project
sources.
The Fydji Portal is released as a set of inter-dependent
projects. This release includes the sources for the Core,
CMS (Content Management), internal mail, workflows and
forums modules. It also includes the helper projects
allowing to build and launch the portal.
This release archive contains the README file with the
instructions on how to setup the development environment,
initialize the database and Web Services, run the portal
in development and deployment mode.
